Internship Management and Training Resource Will Help Businesses Gain Productivity and Students Gain Practical Experience
Newtown, PA – Z University (ZU), an advocate of practical development for emerging young professionals, introduces Intern Toolkit, a proprietary system designed to show businesses how to manage interns with ease and fully utilize students' capabilities to increase productivity, save time, and create real value.
Intern Toolkit provides businesses with step-by-step guidance and reveals the best practices to effectively recruit, train and manage student interns. The product features a wealth of practical insights, time-saving templates, quick-reference materials, and includes a unique student training curriculum to develop core business skills.
"There's a significant need to improve internship programs to benefit businesses and students alike," explains Matthew Zinman, President and Founder of Z University. "Businesses that do have interns too often fall short of realizing their full potential. Many other organizations could prosper from putting students to work, but lack the resources and know-how to create a program We've developed Intern Toolkit for businesses everywhere to cultivate best-in-class internships and, in doing so, fulfill our mission to help college students gain the vital practical experience that will prepare them for career success."
Intern Toolkit has nearly 60 components among seven modules: Program Planning Tools; Recruitment Tools; Screening and Hiring Tools; Orientation Tools; Work Management Tools; Performance Measurement Tools; and, Skill Development Training Tools. It is available for purchase online at www.InternToolkit.com The contents are organized in a tabbed spiral binder and provided on a CD-ROM so users can adapt its many time-saving tools.
Sourced FROM businesses FOR businesses, Intern Toolkit's content draws upon experience among internship programs with proven best practices. It features a systematic approach to managing student projects and more than 50 types of hands-on work that interns can do to add value for any business. Intern Toolkit also has exclusive training materials that feature 10 topics on essential business skills for employers to structure a curriculum that will improve students' capabilities, performance and preparedness.
Mr. Zinman advises that, "It takes genuine commitment for businesses to create an internship program and dedicated effort to manage it successfully." He adds, "We do our best to make ZU's resources as comprehensive and easy-to-use as possible. We believe Intern Toolkit will provide a valuable difference for those who can put it to good use."
Z University's own program features an unusual virtual internship methodology. Mr. Zinman personally oversees ZU's 10 interns in this current summer term. In much the same way as they attend classes, students attend a weekly project review and skills training session and then complete the work in teams and on their own. Each ZU intern works at least 15 hours per week. Using Intern Toolkit, Mr. Zinman dedicates approximately 10 – 12 hours per week to manage the program. The return on that time investment features 150 hours of collective productivity along with the many other benefits of having college interns.
