Western Union and Renhill Staffing To Offer Electronic Payroll Alternatives

Western Union Financial Services Inc. has entered an agreement with Renhill Staffing Services, a full-service staffing agency, to offer the Western Union Cash Card service as an electronic payroll alternative to Renhill's more than 1,500 temporary personnel.

Based in Toledo, Ohio and with 10 locations in five states, Renhill Staffing offers light industrial, clerical, medical, hospitality, administrative and information technology positions. Many of Renhill's employees do not maintain traditional bank accounts, making conventional electronic payroll options difficult to implement.

The Western Union Cash Card service is a pre-paid debit program that provides employers with electronic payroll alternatives for its employees without conventional banking relationships. For employers, the Western Union Cash Card can eliminate many of the difficulties associated with paper checks, saving them both time and money.

For employees, the Cash Card offers the opportunity to receive direct deposit of payroll and to access funds at ATMs or participating Western Union agent locations. Employees can also use the card to make purchases at participating merchant locations throughout the United States.

"We wanted to find a way to make electronic payroll more accessible to all of our employees," said Jonette Patterson, president, Renhill Staffing. "With the Western Union Cash Card, our employees have immediate and convenient access to their funds and greater access to financial services-whether or not they currently have a bank account.

Western Union Financial Services Inc. is a subsidiary of Atlanta-based First Data Corp.
