Wachovia Corporation Selects Kenexa Recruiter for Enterprise Recruiting Solution

WAYNE, Pa. (July 30, 2003) - Kenexa®, a global leader in innovative human resource solutions, today announced that Charlotte, North Carolina-based Wachovia Corporation (NYSE:WB) has chosen Kenexa Recruiter™ as its enterprise recruiting solution. Wachovia Corporation is a diversified financial services company that provides a broad range of banking, asset management, wealth management, and corporate and investment banking products and services. With more than 80,000 employees, Wachovia serves 20 million banking, brokerage, and corporate customers on the East Coast and throughout the nation.

Denny Clark, Senior Vice President, Director of Recruiting, said, "When Wachovia sought a recruiting management system solution, we sought a true partnership, not just a vendor. We've achieved that partnership through our choice of Kenexa, which is another key strategic step in building our company with the best top talent."

ith 27,000 plus job openings per year, Wachovia's corporate recruiters need to locate the best candidates quickly and efficiently. To support this business-critical function, Wachovia did a thorough evaluation of 12 recruiting vendors and brought five finalists in for demonstrations and three for usability exercises. Brian Drake, Wachovia's Vice President, Recruiting Practice Technology Group, said, "We knew that ‘ease of use' was a critical requirement for our Recruiters from a survey we distributed early in the selection phase of the project. Kenexa won the usability exercise hands down. Wachovia's Recruiting Consultants actually tested and worked with the system and voted for it."

Denny Clark added, "Our selection team also gave Kenexa Recruiter high marks for its ability to work with our existing workflows, processes and technology. Plus, Kenexa gives us the ability to establish a profile for the ideal candidate and use its advanced search capabilities to find more candidates like the ideal."

Rather than using Kenexa Recruiter's hosted delivery, Wachovia has chosen to install Kenexa Recruiter internally "behind the firewall." Drake added, "To mitigate risk, our business-critical HR applications must reside onsite. Additionally, Wachovia has a strong HR IT department, so we have the advantage of dedicated IT resources that can manage and support change, such as integrating Kenexa Recruiter to our other enterprise applications."

Troy Kanter, President of Kenexa's Human Capital Management division, said, "Wachovia has built one of the world's most sophisticated in-house staffing functions. Their vision of world-class hiring and retention parallels Kenexa's commitment to delivering on integrated talent management."
