This one-day seminar examines an overriding pressure facing round-the-clock industries -- that of designing and implementing efficient, effective and attractive work schedules. Unlike daytime operations, the scheduling of work hours in 24-hour and 7-day (24/7) industries is a complex and demanding task. Scheduling decisions must address a wide range of factors, including capacity/demand requirements, labor laws and associated personnel costs, employee productivity and safety goals, equipment maintenance schedules and even communication concerns. The wrong solution for your organization can result in lost capacity, higher operating costs and lower productivity, quality, safety and morale.

Intended for line and staff managers as well as employee design teams, the Strategic Schedule Design Seminar presents a proven procedure for: identifying the business-driven criteria or operational parameters for schedule designs at a specific worksite; and selecting effective and attractive shift systems which match this business framework. Business needs and operational requirements are explored in detail, using case studies of successful work schedule optimization efforts. Additionally, a specific methodology for selecting shift systems that enhance operational effectiveness, increase human productivity and improve employee safety, health, quality-of-life and morale is presented. Participants also explore a wide range of alternative strategic systems, and examine the impact of different design options on their current operations. Upon completion of this one-day session, participants will be equipped to conduct a successful schedule (re)design project on their own.

This seminar also can be tailored to the special issues of companies expanding from 5-day to 6-day or 7-day operations. In fact, Round-The-Clock Systems specializes in the expansion of work-hours capacity, including changes from discontinuous (less than 24 hours) and semi-continuous ("5x24") operations to full-scale "7x24" or continuous operations.

At this time, only on-site, customized seminars are available for this highly-acclaimed training service.
