SHL Appoints New Vice President In Americas Region

SHL Group Plc, the world leader in objective assessment, today announces the appointment of Cornelia A. (Connie) Freeman as its new Vice President of Assessment Consulting for the Americas Region.

In her new role, Ms. Freeman will focus on growing the assessment consulting business in the region. This will include building the brand, creating new assessment service offerings, increasing SHL's customer base, enhancing and leveraging existing client relationships, providing leadership and development to the Americas consulting team, and managing the business to achieve established financial goals. SHL offers a wide range of assessment tools and services from assessment centers to individual executive assessment ensuring organizations apply techniques to make selection and development decisions that maximize the fit between the person and the job or role.

Ms. Freeman was previously Practice Leader for Organization Effectiveness and Management Development (OEMD) for SHL Canada where she focused on executive, team and organization development - assessment, process consultation and coaching and development to facilitate change, growth and goal achievement.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms. Freeman said, "My main objective is to work alongside the management team and our experienced consultants to build a strong assessment consulting business for SHL Americas. I believe my internal organization experience, education, training, and intuitive understanding of human relations will allow me to make connections between ideas and practical applications – a must for the job at hand."

Before joining SHL in October 2002, Ms. Freeman consulted for over ten years to both public and private sector organizations - including financial services, consumer products, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, government, healthcare and education. She has consulted with client organizations including: Novartis; The United Nations; Canada Post; Novo Nordisk; Bvlgari; L'Oreal; Unilever Bestfoods; ING Canada; Bank of Montreal; ICI Chemicals; Bayer; HMV; and the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario.

As well as contributing to professional journals and conferences, Ms. Freeman has taught graduate HRD courses at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, as well as courses in OD and communication at Southern Illinois University, the University of Illinois, and SUNY-Buffalo.

Ms. Freeman earned her undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Communication from Southern Illinois University, her MA in Organization Communication from the University of Illinois, and has achieved ABD status toward her Ph.D.
