Rapidigm Named One of This Year's Fastest-Growing Companies by Inc. Magazine
The Inc. 500, published on October 17th, is an exclusive report on the companies and CEOs who are changing the face of American business. Noteworthy alumni include such household corporate names as Microsoft, Timberland, and Dominos Pizza.
Rapidigm is a major provider of e-Commerce, Web development, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and information technology (IT) consulting services. Rapidigm achieved the rank of 452 on this year's Inc. 500 list by reporting a 588% increase in sales during the period of time between 1995 and 1999. For that same 5-year time period, Rapidigm added approximately $213 million in sales ($36 million to $249 million). Only 22 companies on the 2000 Inc. 500 list posted revenues over $100 million. With revenues of $249 million, Rapidigm is the fourth largest company on the Inc. 500.
Lew Wheeler, Rapidigm's CEO and Co-Chairman of the Board, said that making the Inc. 500 list for the second year in a row is quite an achievement for the company. "Making the prestigious Inc. 500 list once again is definitely something that we are all very proud of. And what makes this even more impressive is that very few companies of our size can achieve the organic growth rate that we have. That's why the list is traditionally dominated by smaller companies."
Paul Freudenberg, Rapidigm's President and Co-Chairman of the Board, added that the company's accomplishments are attributed to the hard work and dedication of its employees and the loyalty of the company's 600-plus customer base. "Our 2,500 employees throughout the nation are devoted to the success and welfare of our customers, and that results in our customers demonstrating their dedication to our organization."
This marks the 19th year that Inc. has charted the progress of America's most innovative and successful entrepreneurs. To be eligible for the Inc. 500, companies have to be independent and privately held through 1999, have at least $200,000 in sales in the base year, 1995, and have 1999 sales that have exceeded their 1998 sales. The ranking is based on the percentage increase in sales from 1995 through 1999. Holding companies, regulated banks, and regulated utilities are not eligible. Inc. verifies all information using tax forms, financial statements and certified public accounts and by conducting interviews with company officials.
