QCSI Pushes Business Process Automation To Unprecedented Levels With The Launch Of AutoQ

New Product Empowers Payors to Automate Labor-Intensive Workflows with Proven Results

Phoenix - QCSI (Quality Care Solutions Inc.), a provider of advanced information technology and enterprise application software and services for health insurers and benefits administrators, announced the launch of its AutoQ business process automation tool. AutoQ is QCSI's latest innovation that complements and extends the award-winning, feature-rich functionality inherent in its QNXT enterprise application system.

AutoQ leverages Microsoft Windows Serve, Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft BizTalk Server technologies to automate the most difficult, costly and labor intensive manual workflow processes -- like complex pended claims and exception processing. The result saves payors the time and expense normally associated with manual, desktop procedures in addition to facilitating accurate and timely claims processing. AutoQ also capitalizes on the unique and patented architecture of QCSI's QNXT system through a Web services integration, allowing payors to customize AutoQ to their needs and workflows. As a result, AutoQ offers virtually boundless benefits for health care payors, reaching a deeper level of automation than ever before.

Jacques Knez, vice president of operations for Schaller Anderson, stated, "We are impressed with the degree to which we can automate our workflows with AutoQ. Not only did it provide significant operational savings, AutoQ allowed us to redeploy employees to better take advantage of their specialized knowledge and experience. We have realized a 3-5 percent increase in auto-adjudication rates."

Arizona-based Schaller Anderson Inc. is a nationally recognized health management company that leverages advanced technologies to manage its health care information for the health plans it administers. Its "One and Done" initiative is targeted at speeding claims adjudication, and reducing costs and the potential for human errors associated with manual processing by automating claims processing and more complex, related workflows.

"This gives us another tool to increase efficiency so we can concentrate our resources on improving health outcomes for the members in the health plans we serve," said Knez.

"As our customers take greater advantage of our innovative best practices certification program for our QNXT system, they begin to realize the extensive functionality already built into the system," stated Dave Engert, CEO of QCSI. "When customers combine the power of QNXT with AutoQ's ability to further automate their most error-prone, time-consuming and costly processes, they demonstrate their commitment to removing the information boundaries that plague so much of the U.S. health care system."

"QCSI continues to raise the bar for business process automation in health plans with the addition of AutoQ to its award-winning QNXT suite," said Dennis Schmuland, M.D., health plan industry director, Healthcare and Life Sciences Industry, Microsoft. "AutoQ is a great example of how smart solution developers like QCSI are releasing easy-to-use-and-deploy solutions built on top of Microsoft's industry framework components like BizTalk Server to enable payers to auto adjudicate more claims with fewer resources and less complexity. As an established leader in health care IT and a five-time MS-HUG award recipient, it's clear to see why more health plans are choosing QCSI."
