PeopleSoft and TALX to provide salary and employment verification services
The alliance will give users of PeopleSoft 8 ePay access to The Work Number, an employee records database from TALX, to help expedite approval of loans and other personal applications that require employment and salary verification in a secure manner. It will also help employers eliminate the need for their HR and payroll departments to process employment and salary verification requests.
St. Louis-based TALX is an application service provider for HR, benefits, and payroll employee services. PeopleSoft, based in Pleasanton, CA, is a provider of e -business applications. The Work Number database has more than 40 million employee records under contract from over 600 organizations nationwide and is updated directly from the employers' payroll records every pay period.
Employees can access The Work Number database from PeopleSoft's ePay collaborative application or over the telephone. Using ePay, employees can request and receive a "salary key"-a one-time use, randomly generated number-that they can use to access employee records in The Work Number database. They can then provide the salary key to companies and organizations that need to verify specific employment and salary information.
The ePay product is part of PeopleSoft's Internet collaborative applications powered by the PeopleSoft Internet Architecture. The product supports an employee's need for immediate access to view payroll data as well as manage information such as direct deposits, tax withholding, voluntary deductions, and online employment and salary verification services.
The new integrated solution will be provided through PeopleSoft MarketPlace, a business-to-business and business-to-employee trading exchange where customers, employees and suppliers are able to collaborate and conduct business efficiently over the Internet.
