Northshore International and Apex Management Merge to Form New Consulting and Services Company

Northshore International Insurance Services, Inc. and The Apex Management Group, Inc. have agreed to merge their operations, forming a new entity called NiiS/Apex Group Holdings, Inc.

Based in Salem, MA, NiiS/Apex Group will offer a full range of services including claims management and auditing, actuarial and employee benefits consulting, to employers, insurers, reinsurers and healthcare providers.

David W. Ives, president of NiiS, becomes chairman and chief executive officer of the new company. Both organizations have successfully worked together for several years and view the merger as an opportunity to leverage mutual resources and develop new products and services, Ives said in a press release announcing the merger.

The new company will be organized into three groups -- the Consulting Group, the Management Group, and the Ventures Group -- each headed by executives of the merged companies.

Founded in 1988, NiiS provides claims management, auditing, and consulting services for medical, disability, workers' compensation and other property/casualty coverages to clients. Princeton, NJ-based Apex Management, founded in 1993, is a healthcare actuarial and employee benefits consulting firm.
