Midwest Firms Plan Merger to Become Nation's Largest PEO

Two of the countries leading professional employment organizations are merging to form what they say will be the largest privately help PEO in the nation. The Genesys Group, headquartered in Troy, Mich., and Simplified Employment Services Inc., Auburn Hills, Mich., will offer products and services to a combined client base of 2,457 clients and 39,000 worksite employees.

PEOs contractually assume and manage human resource and personnel responsibilities and employer risks for small to mid-sized businesses by establishing and maintaining employer relationships with onsite employees.

Among the enhanced services Genesys and Simplified Employment will offer include use of the Internet to provide interactive access to benefits plans for employees and real-time payroll and employee attendance monitoring for clients. The new company will offer services nationwide, maintaining offices in 16 states, including Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
