The Assessment Reference Tool (ART) and Clinical Guidelines Tool (CGT) are designed to help claims and managed care professionals internally manage workers' compensation and disability claims. These tools include comprehensive chiropractic and physical therapy criteria within the guidelines, which cover 2,500 diagnoses codes and 500 procedure codes. They can be used via the Internet or through customer intranets and are also available for site licensure or leasing.

These medical and disability guidelines tools are a component of the company's Integrated Care Management System (ICMS). This patient-centric software platform is used by medical professionals to telephonically manage all aspects of cases from first report of injury through to claims closure. This software is available on a standalone basis and is used by some of the largest carriers and TPAs in the disability management market. These systems offer severity- adjusted return-to-work ranges that take into account the demands of a job as well as the patient's clinical conditions. Each guideline is developed with a built-in revision date to ensure inclusion of up-to-date clinical information as well as compliance with NCQA and URAC quality standards.

The ART features comprehensive disability guidelines by diagnosis for those injuries most commonly seen in workers' compensation and short- and long-term disability claims. Designed to help claims professionals determine the appropriateness of case management intervention, it enables quicker recovery, earlier return to work and reduced overall claims costs.

The CGT is for on-site medical professionals and provides additional clinical criteria as well as medical treatment and disability duration, office visit frequency, standardized treatment protocols and hypertext links to related diagnoses. The return-to-work severity- adjusted tables give medical professionals the ability to provide a customized approach to return to work. As a result, medical professionals using this program can be more effective in return-to-work negotiations.
