Leading Federal Agencies Select Kronos To Address Workforce Management Initiatives
Washington, DC - The E-Government Act of 2002 mandates federal agencies to pursue opportunities that leverage information technology to create a more citizen-centered Federal Enterprise. This Act comprises of several government-wide initiatives, which are integral to the President's Management Agenda. The Human Resources Line of Business (HR LOB) initiative, which proposes a shift of human resources functions from agencies to federal service centers, promotes a cost-effective, standardized, and interoperable framework to support the strategic management of human capital.
As a reflection of agencies adopting the charter established by the HR LOB, a growing number of federal organizations are turning to Kronos Incorporated to automate the costly and time-consuming processes associated with employee time and attendance, scheduling, leave, and labor management.
Kronos recently extended its webTA solution, designed exclusively for the federal government, to several leading organizations including the Agency for International Development, Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Smithsonian Institution, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Kronos solutions are currently implemented across 58 federal government agencies with approximately 500,000 federal users.
"Kronos is experiencing steady growth in federal government," said Jeff Babcock, senior director of the Kronos federal division. "Agencies today are faced with the challenge of improving productivity and service, while controlling costs. None of these can be achieved without a cohesive system to measure performance. Our comprehensive solution combines cutting-edge technology and best practices in human capital management to fit the unique needs of federal agencies, which helps create an environment of accountability and success."
Meeting the requirements of the Human Resources Line of Business (HR LOB)
Federal agencies have made significant progress to improve and address human resources processes through Kronos to achieve the following:
- Improve human capital management through faster decision making, informed policy making, and better resource alignment with agency missions;
- Increase cost savings by reducing duplications in technology and labor resources;
- Improve customer service by increasing accessibility to client, and enhancing quality, timeliness, and accuracy of responses.
The Kronos webTA solution is strongly aligned with the HR LOB vision and goals, and enables agencies to automate, engage, and optimize their workforce while reducing total costs of ownership. Kronos' webTA simplifies time and attendance, scheduling, leave, and labor management for the U.S. federal government.
