Intercare Helps Employers Create Benefits Programs To Enhance Health And Improve Productivity

San Diego. CA - Intercare Insurance Solutions, a leader in innovative benefits consulting and services, recently announced it hosted a half-day educational program for employers. The interactive workshop was designed to help attendees shift their thinking to view their benefits as an investment rather than as an expense. Ultimately, attendees learned how to create and implement an innovative approach to benefits design planning known as value-based benefits. Historically, programs using a value-based approach have delivered an ROI on health care dollars of up to 5:1.

David Hom, chairman of the board for the Center for Health Value Innovation and former vice president of human resources strategic initiatives for Pitney Bowes, was one of three featured speakers at the complementary, invitation-only event. Hom's presentation, "Plug n Play for Value-Based Benefits – Teaching Employers How to Invest in Workforce Health," offered interactive sessions and hands-on activities that helped employers identify and incorporate the key features of a value-based design into their own health benefits program. Pfizer and the Center for Health Value Innovation were co-sponsors of the event.

"In March of this year, David introduced local employers to the basics of value-based benefit design programs and what Fortune 1000 companies have accomplished by implementing them," said Mike Barone, president for Intercare. "Today's workshop took the concept of value-based benefits one step further by arming participants with practical, actionable information they can use to develop their own value-based benefit programs," Barone continued. "We are pleased that we were able to offer another valuable seminar to local employers based on our commitment to help them design and implement health benefits programs that support their financial and human resource goals. Sponsoring high-value educational programs that feature nationally recognized speakers is just one example of how we accomplish this objective."
