ChoicePoint debuts online job applicant personality profiling system

ChoicePoint (NYSE: CPS), in partnership with Atlanta-based industrial psychologists, Helms, Greco & Whitnack, Ph.D. LLP, has developed TestProfiles, an advanced online job applicant personality profiling system.

Available over the Internet, TestProfiles administers a 30-minute online test, which instantly provides a thorough picture of an applicant's personality and match to a specific job. TestProfiles is the latest example of how ChoicePoint is developing products to help clients save time and money while maintaining safe, productive workplaces.

"TestProfiles provides employers with a speedy, cost-effective way to make smarter hiring decisions," said Baxter Gillespie, assistant vice president of ChoicePoint's WorkPlace Solutions group. "People rarely fail in a job because of a lack of ability, but they frequently fail because they either do not match the job or the culture of the organization. This system offers an in-depth understanding of the key personality characteristics and potential competencies that a candidate would bring to the organization prior to making the hiring decision."

"The accuracy of the tests are based on the use of sophisticated profiling instruments which have historically required extensive training," said Dr. Wayne Helms. "TestProfiles was developed using these tools, but now presents the results in an easily interpreted customer-friendly online format."

TestProfiles complements the full suite of ChoicePoint's pre-employment screening services which include criminal and motor vehicle records checks, drug testing and credit reports as well as education, employment, license and reference verification.

TestProfiles is client managed, allowing companies to create a desired cultural profile or compare applicants to an outline of highly successful employees in certain positions. The results provide a summary of the perspective employee's job-related personality traits, including analytical ability, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, emotionality and natural aggressiveness.

For direction in screening potential hires, the product offers a detailed behavioral-based interview guide. Based on the behavioral skills and developmental needs identified from the test, the guide provides sample interview questions, which assist the client in the development of more complete personality insights. TestProfiles also offers a more comprehensive evaluation for supervisory-level testing, focusing on the candidate's positive and negative managerial tendencies.

TestProfiles is available in Spanish and English to hiring organizations. For more information about TestProfiles, call 1-800-364-8380 ext. 227 or visit www.testprofiles.com .
