CBS Payroll Launches Online Payroll Processing
More human resource administration services are moving to the Internet -- a trend proponents say will ease HR administration for small and mid-sized businesses.
CBS Payroll, a Ft. Worth, Texas-based provider of payroll and employer services, recently introduced CBS Net-Pay. The new Web-based system enables businesses to perform all payroll functions online in an effort to simplify and speed up the payroll cycle.
The CBS Net-Pay system enables employers to add employees, edit employee information, enter payroll and earnings payroll information, access tax, human resource, wage, direct deposit and accrual information, generate reports and process payroll using a Web browser.
CBS Payroll said if offers an innovative feature, the CBS PayCard, as part of the online system. The application enables employees to have their pay deposited electronically into their own PayCard account. The company issues employees who elect this service a plastic CBS PayCard that is used to access wages through automated teller machines.
"We've leveraged the Internet to offer our customers secure, 24x7 access to a robust menu of employer services," commented J. Michael Sykes, president of CBS Payroll. The company partnered with Event Zero, an Arlington, Mass., Internet professional services firm, to create the new service.
The introduction of the CBS Net-Pay application completes the initial roll out of the company's Internet strategy. CBS Payroll re-launched its corporate Web site in January, and began an accelerated process of implementing its online electronic payroll solution, which included information resources, benefit and insurance administration, and human resource management services.
