Carnegie Mellon University Makes The Grade By Streamlining Its Recruiting Process With Kenexa Recruiter®

Kenexa Solution Replaces Existing System and Automates Processing of More than 18,000 Applications Yearly

WAYNE, PA - Kenexa®, a provider of talent acquisition and retention solutions, today announced that Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) has implemented Kenexa Recruiter®, Kenexa's Web-based enterprise applicant tracking solution. Kenexa Recruiter will streamline recruiting for CMU's three campuses located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Moffett Field, California; and Doha, Qatar. CMU is an internationally recognized institution with a distinctive mix of world-class educational and research programs in computer science, robotics, engineering, the sciences, business, public policy, fine arts and humanities that have been ranked among the best in the country.

Barbara Smith, Chief Human Resource Officer at Carnegie Mellon University said, "Prior to partnering with Kenexa we relied on our internally developed applicant tracking solution that was built more than a decade ago and required manual data entry of applicant information. On an annual basis we receive more than 18,000 applications and from that, hire an estimated 400 candidates. Being recognized as one of the most technologically sophisticated campuses in the world, we needed a state-of-the-art solution that centralized and automated our recruiting processes." Smith added, "We reviewed more than 20 vendors and Kenexa's user-friendly, hosted solution impressed us due to its ability to turn our university Web site into a career center. Plus, their solution's artificial intelligence capabilities proved impressive for its ability to better match candidates to our hiring criteria."

Rudy Karsan, Chief Executive Officer of Kenexa, said, "Kenexa is pleased to welcome Carnegie Mellon University to its growing customer roster of educational institutions. We're delighted to help Carnegie Mellon University further reinforce its brand as a technologically advanced university while also increasing the quality of the employees and productivity of the university's HR department."

Smith added, "The system is scheduled to go live in June, and we look forward to eliminating the intense amount of paperwork associated with recruiting. As a result of observing these efficiencies, there has been interest in utilizing the solution for faculty recruiting needs. This is a true endorsement for Kenexa Recruiter."
