AT&T chooses TALX for automated employment and salary verification

AT&T Corp., the nation's largest long-distance telephone and cable television company, will provide its employees with access to TALX Corp.'s automated employment and salary verification service called The Work Number.

Through both a Web site and a toll-free number, The Work Number gives employees control over the release of their salary and employment information to an outside source, such as a financial institution requesting verification for approval of a home or loan application.

"The Work Number is a strategic tool for streamlining administrative requests and providing highly-responsive service to employees," said Bill Canfield, president and CEO of St. Louis-based TALX.

TALX is an application service provider for human resources, benefits, and payroll employee services. The company hosts applications that enable employees to complete transactions independently utilizing the Web, interactive voice response, speech recognition, fax and e-mail.
