Abra Self-Service is a powerful solution built on the strength of the award winning Abra Suite. Utilizing the best of Microsoft Backoffice Technology, Abra Self Service gives Abra Suite users the power and flexibility of allowing employees to view and/or update their personal information using any popular Internet Browser. Best of all, the program gives the HR department the flexibility to control what information can be viewed by the employee, if and how the information is updated to Abra Suite.

The greatest benefit of Abra Self-Service is that it frees HR staff to focus on more strategic activities by enabling employees to make routine changes to their own records," said Tom Tillman, director of product management. "It's easy to install, manage and, most importantly, to use at all levels of the organization.

HR can custom-design web pages to determine what employees see and do with their information, ranging from basic address and phone number updates to attendance accruals, benefits, salary and training history. The module uses encrypted password protection and, depending on the level defined by the site administrator, allows employees to view information, make changes or request changes which are forwarded to HR via e-mail. Links can also be created to other relevant web sites, such as a 401 (k) provider or insurance carrier, and for access to policy manuals, benefit enrollment forms and related online documents.

The set-up and access is based on the comfort level of management, who determine what information is viewed and changeable," said Tillman. "And the module's comprehensive reporting feature provides HR and managers with valuable decision-making information on both employees and their usage of the intranet site.
