15,000 Banner Health Employees Live on Kronos Workforce Central

CHELMSFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 23, 2003--Kronos(R) Incorporated (Nasdaq: KRON) announced today that Banner Health has completed its rollout of the time and labor application within Kronos' Workforce Central(R) suite to 15,000 hospital and corporate employees. Banner Health selected Workforce Central over other employee relationship management (ERM) systems because of Kronos' deep-rooted expertise in driving cost reductions and increased productivity into large healthcare organizations. "We put our trust in Kronos because they have proven time and time again that they can successfully install time and labor systems at healthcare organizations of our size and complexity," commented Kathy Schultz, director of application development at Phoenix-based Banner Health, one of the largest nonprofit healthcare systems in the U.S. "We take comfort in partnering with Kronos because Kronos knows healthcare inside and out." Workforce Central enables Banner Health to capture critical employee data at the source and push it to decision makers in real time, facilitating better, faster decisions about employees spread throughout 19 hospitals, six long-term care centers and an array of family clinics, home care services, nursing registries, and home medical equipment services. A recent acquisition nearly doubled the number of Banner Health employees. The rapid expansion prompted the healthcare organization to bring critical business systems up to date in a centralized fashion. A second phase of implementation has just begun which will bring up the remaining 7,000 employees across Banner Health. Once installed, the system will handle all 22,000 Banner Health employees at locations in eight states. "Large healthcare organizations have extremely complex employee relationship management needs," commented Michael DiPietro, Kronos vice president of product and industry marketing. "Kronos continues to be the choice for major healthcare organizations such as Banner Health because of our ability to automate critical business processes and provide a high return in a short time." More than 4,000 healthcare organizations depend on Kronos' solutions to control labor costs and improve operational efficiencies.
