Linkage created the award in honor of long-time employee and event co-chair, Marcus Marcero, who recently passed away. Nathalie is a graduate student at Wayne State University, where Marcus was a part-time professor and completed his graduate work.

Nathalie has conducted the majority of her graduate research on leadership, focusing on cross-cultural aspects as well as gender differences. She completed an internship at Denison Consulting in the Research and Development department, where she focused on leadership topics, as well as organizational culture. She has presented her research at major conferences in the field and co-authored chapters and articles on cross-cultural leadership in Journal of World Business and Advances in Global Leadership.
