Workscape to deliver electronic benefit self-service to Humana

September 7, 2000

Humana Inc. has signed a multimillion-dollar contract with Workscape Inc.'s iSolutions Division to provide electronic benefits self-service applications to streamline the sales and enrollment processes for brokers and agents of large insurance carriers. According to the managed health care company, the move is part of Louisville, KY-based Humana's e-health strategy to use the Internet to improve service for agents and brokers, as well as plan members and their employers.

"Workscape's extensive domain expertise in health benefits automation and HR self service, coupled with its proven track record of successful deployments, were important factors in our decision," Sam Garas, senior systems manager, Humana, said. "The industry knowledge brought to us by the Workscape team, as well as the fast integration and adoption of the iSolutions products which several of their existing customers have experienced, assured us that Workscape will enhance the services we provide to our partners."

Reston, VA-based Workscape's new iSolutions Division, specializes in delivery of a suite of Web-based insurance agent, plan subscriber and employer self service applications that companies such as Humana will use to automate the benefits sales and enrollment processes. These products integrate with Workscape's entire suite of HR self service products, as well as the company's new workplace e-commerce marketplace, which will be launched during the second half of 2000.
